The Tile Doctor Grout Admix provides one easy step to super charge your cement grout. Seal, protect, and strengthen grout by replacing water with Grout Admix. No need to seal after curing, Grout Admix gives you the same stain resistance as most grout sealers - get it all done the first time. This low VOC formula shields grout from mold and mildew buildup and is easy to clean.

unsanded Grout: Use 45 ounces of Grout Admix to 10 pounds of sanded grout.

APPLICATION: Invert bottle several times to mix product. To achieve a specific grout consistency, add 3/4 of Grout Admix volume indicated in general guidelines. Add grout and stir, continuing to add Grout Admix until reaching the desired consistency. If the entire container is emptied and more liquid is needed, add up to 5 extra ounces of cool potable water to reach desired consistency. Allow mixture to sit for 10 minutes. Do not add more liquid. Again mix thoroughly. Use grout manufacturer's instructions in the application process. Do not allow traffic on grouted surface for at least 24 hours; do not allow direct water addition, cleaning or freezing temperatures for at least 10 days or grout manufacturer's directions, whichever is longer. There is no need to seal grout.

MAINTENANCE: Routine maintenance and cleaning of the grout is required. Clean up spills as they occur.

STORAGE: Store between 32 degrees F and 100 degrees F out of direct sunlight. Avoid freezing.

LIMITATIONS: Allow tile applications to cure at least 24 hours or follow grout manufacturer's recommendation before applying grout. If tile and stone are to be sealed, do so and allow curing before applying grout. Do not use Grout Admix with liquid, Epoxy, Urethane or Any ready to use grout. Do not mix Grout Admix with Any other additives. Follow grout manufacturer's recommendations for suitability of installation surfaces or test a small area for suitability.

Grout Admix FAQ's

Is it safe? Yes this product is safe. It's made of silane; which is sand, carbon; wood, and nitrogen. Furthermore, Admix does not leach (or give off volatile gasses), or better stated, has no VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds). There are no environmental concerns when using Admix. The safety profile is one of the biggest differentiators between Admix and competing products. You can feel good about the safety of this product!

What grouts are best to use Admix with? Admix is formulated to work with Latex Modified Portland cement grouts. Non-Latex and alternatives to portland cement don't yield the optimum results.

Can Admix be used as a sealer? Admix when blended into the grout has many key features. One of the main attributes is that Admix functions as a penetrating sealer within the grout thereby giving the owner additional reaction time when staining agents are introduced onto the tile or stone installation and its grout lines.

What does a sealer really do for cement grout? Sealers provide reaction time. Nothing sealed is protected against everything all of the time, but a properly sealed surface will allow you time to address the staining agent before too much damage, or little to no damage is caused. It all depends on type of stain, amount of time left on the surface, temperature of the staining agent etc.

I grouted 24 hours ago with Admix and I see only a little water repellency. 24 hours at room temperature will not provide enough time for the hydrophobic or repellency to fully develop. Full polymerization will come after 10 days at ambient temperature. Meaning the molecules of this chemistry have not fully joined and cross linked to form the hydrophobic effect that repels many stains. The product is safe for use or traffic after 24 hours. But do not allow full submersion and the use of chemicals should not be introduced until 10 days after the grout has been applied.

Can Admix be used with porcelain tile? All types of tile benefit from this chemistry.

Do I need to seal my stone prior to grouting if I am using Admix? It is not necessary in all cases. Admix will not increase the chance of problems related to colored grouts on unsealed stone. But it never hurts to protect your stone from the pigments in the grout if you are using a grout color that could have adverse affects upon the stone. Follow the manufactures recommended instructions for this. Also follow generally accepted construction guidelines and practices for stone installation.

Is it easy to clean up after installation? Admix has been formulated to give maximum workability characteristics to cement grouts. Installers love the "ball bearing" feel of using Admix in grout, spreading is easier, clean-up is easier. Labels directions for disposal mention the use of an anionic detergent for that.

What is an anionic detergent? Household laundry soaps and dish soaps will work for this.

Will Admix prevent effervescence? It will not have any effect one way or another. Most grouts now have anti? effervescence chemistry in them already. Admix will allow the grout joint to breath vapor and therefore effervescence could leach out as it would if you had not used the Admix.
